Portage High School vs Michigan City High School
68 97

The Wolves girls swim team handled a larger team from Portage despite only fielding 9 MC swimmers. Portage has experienced pool problems, and has become nomadic in practices to Hobart and travels to all competition. Portage captured the 500 free and 100 Back to prevent an MC event sweep. Diving was not held as Portage fielded no divers. Taking first for MC in the 200 Medley and 200 Free relay was the team of Emma Heitmann, Sela VanBuskirk, Erin McGuire, and Valeria Saavedra. Double winners in individual bests were taken by Emma Heitmann in the 100 Butterfly, and 200 IM. Erin McGuire won the 50 Free and 100 Breast and Sela VanBuskirk took honors in the 100 free and 2nd in the 50. Emily Gross won the 200 Free while Dania Duenas took 2nd in the 200 and 500 free and Valeria Saavedra placed second in the Backstroke and teamed with Duenas, Gross and Makayla Gleason to take 2nd in the 400 Free relay. The girls are now 4-2 and will host Jimtown and SB Washington in a triple dual before Break and training resumes. Way to go Wolves!
