The Lady Wolves lost a tough one to Highland on Thursday night 3-2. City went up 1- 0 on a goal scored by Mary Pat Kelley directly from a corner kick. Highland tied it up and went ahead 2-1. City came back on a fine goal by Kirsten Schimnoski. City fought for the win, but lost on a goal in the last 10 minutes. This was probably the Lady Wolves’ best performance of the season – they put together strong offense and strong defense and came up just short against a very good Highland team. The defense was strong, with defenders Aviana Garner, Jessica Wilhelm, and Erin Piazzisi putting in excellent efforts, and goalkeeper Aryanna Hartsburg made a number of nice saves. Olvia Shinn put in a two-way performance, excelling in central midfield and then moving to forward and very nearly coming up with a winning goal at the end. City next play East Chicago on Saturday.
