City Tennis closed out its season on Thursday night, with a 5-0 to LaPorte in the sectional finals. The Wolves played their best tennis up and down the line, and went out with style and a smile. Co-captain Connor Reynolds finished his tennis career at the #1 spot, and played great against one of the areas top #1 players. At #2 singles, Josiah Miller nearly pushed his opponent to a 3rd set, and Luke Poulin did the same at #3. At #1 dubs, John “the Whale” Bruning and Lucas “I am not Miller” White played an incredibly high-level and entertaining match, and while they did not earn a set, they left it all on the courts and can be proud.
This is a team on the rise, with freshmen like Ryan Cuma and Kyle Yackus, who played #2 making an instant impact on the varsity squad, and it has been a truly great season. City Tennis has enjoyed great fans, great, parents, great managers, and great spirit all season, and the coaches thank you all. As they say in City Tennis, it was always a beautiful day for tennis. See you again soon.
