Today at New Prairie High School the Michigan City Wolves boys Cross Country team competed at the Semi-State meet, along with Paula Jimenez Caseda of the girls team. The Wolves boys team finished 11th overall, but got a 4th place finish by senior runner Bryon Berg. That 4th place finish is enough to give him the golden ticket to participate at State Finals for Cross Country. Berg will travel to Terre Haute next Saturday to run the final meet of the year which will take place at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
Bryon Berg finished in a blazing 15:57.8 for his 5k and was only 0.4 second away from a bronze medal finish. The 2 through 4 runners for City again had a nice cluster scoring in 19th, 47th, and 48th for their team scores. Jacob Adams finished the course at New Prairie in 16:31, a full 15 seconds faster than last week. Noah Scherf and Loukas Karallas finished in a virtual tie of 16:56.6 and Freshman Damian Albisu finished in 18:29, a full 33 seconds faster than last week. City also got times of 18:34 from William Watts and 19:40 from Logan Haas City had a total of 227 points on the day, trailing the 10th place position by 2 points.
On the girls side Paula Jimenez Caseda finished 76th overall with a time of 20:25, a 5 second improvement over her time on the same course last week.
